Its been a long time coming, but I have finally got my new feature off the ground!
Quick run down on what its all about! I am looking to have a regular segment on my blog all about suppliers and their businesses. I’m all for promoting others and what they do, word of mouth is the best way of getting noticed! It's a great opportunity for more exposure in the industry, whether it be from clients or working with other companies. Each supplier will feature on the blog for a month. Check out the link to their websites for further information about the services that they all offer. After a busy week of filiming, Oliver Brian Wedding Videography have kindly fitted me into their busy schedule to answer my questions. What’s your name and where do you come from? Oliver Brian Wedding Videographers based in Yorkshire. Tell us a bit about the business Oliver Brian Wedding Videography stemmed from the company; Oliver Brian Productions. Our team initially met as friends at university and so we're a team of University graduates with 1st class honours in Broadcast Media Technologies. Wedding Videography was something we introduced to the company in 2015 and felt that we wanted to give potential newly-weds something to treasure a lifetime. We also wanted our work to be shared to the generations to come. We take great pride in filming the most important day in a couple's journey. What's the general advice you would give to couples getting hitched? In regards to our service; we have so many people (who have been married already) at wedding fairs telling us how much they regret not getting a wedding video. It allows your wedding day to last for eternity, but also in the most cinematic form known to the industry. If you have any thoughts about buying a wedding video - do it, be able to share it, and watch it back with loved ones wherever and whenever you want. So what makes you different from the rest? Despite the beauty of our videos, we focus on capturing the moment in its rawest instant. As videographers, we think it's important to capture those breathtaking moments. The moments that make the hairs stand up on your neck. As well as making sure our wedding videos look cinematic, we feel our forte lies within the capturing the moment in its rawest/authentic form. Any tips? For other videographers, it obviously goes without saying to stay organised - that's from equipment to wedding schedules to the final edit. There are no rehearsals when filming a wedding, you only get one chance, so make sure your prepared to the point where it can only be a success. What are your plans for the future? We will continue to shoot weddings heading into Summer 2018, which we're really looking forward to. Take a look on our website/social media outlets and let us know your thoughts. www.obweddings.co.uk/

On Thursday 13th July, my couple finally tied the knot! Hooray!! Duyen and Delong came to me, back in February this year, wanting assistance with putting together their wedding. With the bride in Korea up until a week before the big day, it was down to the groom and I to pull it off! Trying to plan a wedding in 5 months definitely put me out of my comfort zone! With a few pictures of the theme/look they were wanting and correspondence with the bride via email and the odd face time chat, I set to work! Those that know me well know I'm a perfectionist and a workaholic, but I also like a challenge! I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to give up or that I didn't cry or eat excessively through stress ( I have since joined the gym due to the extra pounds I appear to have taken on!) Planning any event is stressful and comes with its highs and lows, but I had to remain positive :) As with anything, expect the unexpected! There were the odd minor hiccups along the way, but you learn to think outside the box and fast! The ceremony was held at the beautiful Selby Abbey with a wedding reception at the very stunning Principal York Hotel. The weather was perfect and everything ran on time.....ish! Duyen looked every inch a princess and Delong a dapper young prince both ready to say 'I Do'. A massive big thank you to everyone that was involved. Your services were greatly appreciated!

I have a spare 10 minutes so thought I'd best make the most of it and fill you all in on whats been happening!
Apart from my day job and being busy with that, I've been putting in the work the last 5 months for a wedding that will be taking place this week in York (keep an eye out for the pics) I've been a busy bee helping out with friends over at Hashtag-Printing, keeping up to date with social media, suppliers, friends and new contacts! Have to keep that networking going! Got chance to catch up with Javie Melissa, one of the lovely ladies from the Luxury Wedding Retreat. When working for yourself you don't have the opportunity to bounce ideas off a 'team member' and what you think may be a great idea doesn't always execute well! So I would 100% recommend finding someone in the similar line of work in the industry, come together over food and drink (we had Thai!) and just talk about EVERYTHING work related! I realise I still have lots to do and achieve with my business! The creative ideas have started to flow again and I'm getting pretty excited about my next project - more on that later! Lets hope the momentum lasts! Well my 10 minutes are up! Best crack on! Ella x |
